You are commercially in charge of all freight on Stena Line’s ferry links to and from Denmark. Your main focus will be cargo units to and from the ferries – this covers both accompanied and unaccompanied units.
You are responsible for sales and market development, and you will have direct managerial responsibility of 3 employees. Together with your team you ensure Stena Line’s customers an excellent and efficient service.
Product and business development is going to play a crucial role in your position. Even though today Stena Line has an established and efficient business within freight, there are still many exciting possibilities for improvement in the daily departures to/from Denmark. You will therefore have the opportunity to come up with initiatives and ideas that will ensure a healthy growth. You will be working closely with clients, and you are expected to both develop current relations as well as creating new ones.
Your tasks include but they are not limited to:
- Management and development of the Freight department
- Running all sales activities within Freight in Denmark
- Strategy development in collaboration with the rest of the organization
- Develop the existing routes in Business Region Denmark
- Increase freight business from existing and new customers.
You will be working 1-2 days a week from the office in Frederikshavn, but you will also be travelling quite frequently.

Your basic DNA is structure, and you utilize your professional competencies as an experienced leader. We expect you to have experience from transportation management, logistic management and/or freight forwarding. Further, you have good business acumen and the ability to come up with new ideas and boost these new initiatives. Most important is that you already have a strong network within the industry.
You possess a winning mentality, and you have the passion for working inside a business that appreciates integrity, loyalty, and dedication. You aren’t afraid to take the first step towards change, and it’s a must that you have experience with stakeholder management, meaning you are the strong and engaging communicator who is able to work closely with people on all levels of the organization – also when you have to manage remotely. You have a strategic mindset, are used to working with change management, and can optimize freight conduct.
Furthermore, you use IT as a natural part of your daily working life, you are fluent both written and spoken in Danish and English, and it’s an advantage if you speak Swedish.
